AOC 24G42E 24" FHD 180Hz Fast IPS Gaming Monitor

I got this as a replacement for my AOC 24G2SP monitor, which developed horizontal lines on the bottom of the screen out of nowhere. This is apparently a common problem with AOC monitors if you look it up online... so beware. That might be why the warranty on AOC monitors is also long, but who knows. I wasn't told what the cause of the horizontal line was on my previous AOC monitor.

You can only tilt it upwards or downwards. The stand is at least easy to put on but a pain to get off. The mechanism design to remove the stand feels like they didn't even think about the user experience. If you do want to use this with a monitor mount instead, then there's a panel on the back that you have to take off, which is also difficult to do. You'll need something like a flat head screwdriver and a good amount of force to remove it. Without the panel, the back looks awful. However, it's not really a problem if your desk is facing the wall.

Overall a decent monitor for the price, especially for gaming. If you're on a tight budget, then this will definitely do the job. But if you can, I'd save a little extra for something better, especially if you don't plan to get a monitor mount, as the stand on this is so wobbly and you can't adjust the height or rotate it. There are other alternatives out there that have the same specs as this, but cheaper and probably have a better stand.

Good refresh rate HDR looks good cant see any ghosting. Had a Samsung odyssey g3 that had terrible ghosting this AOC monitor is 10x better in every way. At the price of this monitor, it is very good. 180Hz refresh rate, good display and perfect size. I don't think you can get cheaper than this monitor for the quality it provides. This monitor has good flow and does the job well. My only concern is that I can’t see how you tilt the screen. Looks to be a fixed stand to me unless I’m missing something. I have always been a fan of AOC monitors and this is my 3rd one. For the price the specs are just basically unbeatable. Great clarity and color. HRD10 is a plus. The Freesync is currently not Nvidia verified. The only downsides are the stand is quite terrible, it wobbles easily, and my unit has backlight bleed on the top right corner. I probably would've opted for 1440p instead for a 27" Display but missed the sale. 1080p probably great for 24", never the less its a decent purchase for sure. purchased during autumn sale and newly released, great value and feels quite responsive.
