Samsung Odyssey OLED G6 27" QHD 240Hz OLED Gaming Monitor

The monitor itself was great, minor complaints about ALT Tabbing turning the screen black for a few seconds at a time but I could manage, however the monitor had coil whine that was extremely loud when using it and was especially noticeable when brighter colours were displayed on the screen. These monitors come at a serious price hike over IPS LCD's which will give you longer life. The trade off being the blazing refresh rate (no good for Netflix - but great for games) and amazing colours / deep blacks) that an OLED get's you.

If you push a lot of spreadsheets / emails / word docs and even CAD / 3D models - stick with a high end 4K LCD. This Monitor blown me away with how good it looks. It has amazing colour accuracy as well as a great refresh rate. I have this next to a regular Monitor is mind blowing to see the difference.

Even if you do not have a beefy Graphics card to reach the full 240Hz(I don't), this monitor still ups the experience with the quality displayed. I wouldn't bother with the 360Hz version as it will be a waste for anyone other than people who are playing e-sports games competitively. The 240Hz is more than good enough.
Samsung are one of, if not the global leaders when it comes to making Panels and especially OLED. Most likely if you go with another brand, it will have a Samsung Panel in it.

If you are an office worker or primarily use it for Netflix/ some browsing and spreadsheets, then you should much rather go for a standard Monitor and save yourself the money. This monitor is fantastic for gaming, but is difficult when it comes to white screens and words on spreadsheets compared to a regular IPS/LCD monitor.

this is a good monitor if you can get past the oled entry price
this comes with a display port cable
the power supply does not have any mounting options so it just lives on the floor
i have a issue where frequently the screen turns off whenever i go to netflix and i have to manually turnoff the screen and back on for it to work (hdcp garbage)
the colours are vibrant and the image is sharp but to get to 200hz or above you will require a top spec graphics card or play e-sports games or use fake frames

i would recommend this monitor if you have the spare money and don't mind the risk of image burn this is a good monitor if you can get past the oled entry price

Hello! if you are looking at this monitor then you should definitely consider it, for the price of Just under 1,100$ it is the only logical choice, The competition from ASUS and MSI are worse compared to the G61SD in all aspects that matter, HDR, SDR, and color accuracy. Out of all the OLEDS that are available in new zealand, this and the 360hz model from samsung have the best color accuracy, and gray uniformity out of the others. It has a great screen coating ( semi glossy it seems ) which reflects light very well and retains the same good image quality youd expect from a QD-OLED

For 1,499 i would still consider it but maybe more for other options, but on a discount this is the best choice, love it, naturally i have a few gripes with it ( software related) and also had some slight hiccups when setting it up, but its still a great choice.
