After having a few problems with USB cables I decided to go wireless. The charger sits on top of a desktop computer at easy arms reach and I just set my phone on top when I need to charge. If you try and sell a cell phone and you have charged it with a cable, inevitably the area around the USB C charging socket will get scratched. If you try to trade it in with a telco, this is the first place they look. By using the charging pad, and a decent protective cover and screen protector, there is a good chance that your phone will remain in original condition and consequently be more likely to qualify for a trade in in the future.
Also using a charging pad like this is much easier to do compared with pushing a USB C cable in every day.

Has been convenient, until today - when it decided it had some error. Unplugging, cleaning, and removing phone case did nothing.

I unplugged again and gently blew through the fan, it started working again after that (with phone case no less).

No idea if it'll run fine from now on or die in another two weeks. No idea if I dislodged something, unstuck a bearing, or my actions were coincidental.

The internal fan was always noisy, but only annoying in silence. Didn't sound like it was dying, but maybe?

Does exactly what you would expect and works well with my samsung phone through a case. My wifes iPhone doesn't like it quite so much because the camera lens lifts the phone up. I didn't want a super fast charger; I just wanted something that would do the job simply and reliability. That's what I got. I was pleasantly surprised at the speed. Super easy to place the phone in the right place. Charge not as fast as when the phone is plugged in, but still fast. Plenty of protective features so the phone doesn't overheat or overcharge. A great little charging pad for my Samsung S22. Works through a reasonably bulky wallet case with leather outer and TPU inner backing and switches off when the battery is charged to help extend battery life. Easy to install and 'just works!'. Great fast charger with a built-in in cooling fan. I set my phone to a slower charging rate overnight which disables the fan while sleeping but overall its not that loud.
