As the title says, only five buttons on this mouse are programmable, not eight. This is due to a Windows and game limitation for only 5 buttons being directly supported. To exceed 5 buttons being programmable, the manufacturer needs to supply software that allows you to set the extra buttons to emulate pressing keyboard buttons. However, HP does not provide such software for this mouse. So to claim that it has eight programmable buttons i s a flat out lie. After having bought into the idea of an expensive mouse being best and being let down multiple times. I have had a revelation with this mouse. It has a good weight and fits well in the hand for both grip styles, nice easy cycle through preset dpi, and LED colours. its going to be a simple review, the weight of the mouse is nice and it glides smoothly over my kmart mousepad. People say much about the programmable buttons but i dont see how thats an issue for me since i play few games and the only game that i program the buttons to is Valorant. And I have to point out that its misleading that it says it has 8 programmable button while it actually only has 5 but overall its a small issue for me. It has have five programmable buttons and works well with a HP Elitebook laptop. Good left handed mouse, Typical HP hype not quite delivering. No online software or UI for settings and the Onboard settings not the easiest to navigate or control.
