Worthwhile upgrade from Quest 2
Sold my Quest 2 to get this, and it’s a worthwhile upgrade, the display is much crisper, and doesn’t have a single ‘sweet spot’ thanks to the pancake lens
Wifi 6e definitely makes a difference when playing games with steam remote play
The camera pass through isn’t jaw dropping, but it’s definitely a massive improvement from Q2, you can definitely make out your phone screen, and can read a computer screen if you’re close enough

The upgrade from quest 2 to 3
I found this headset quite enjoyable and the controllers are quite the joy for a minimalist like me though the tracking is not perfect as you can expect with the removal of the tracking rings from the quest 2's controllers and not having the cameras from the quest pro's controllers. the passthrough though was quite the experience, having your common place becoming the setting of a game is quite immersive and it has even surprised the rest of my family when they tried it out.

Love this so far! Super immersive and fun and makes gaming quite the work out.
Cons:
The strap the headset comes with is awful, always sliding and puts so much pressure on your face. Get a 3rd party strap headgear and it will be much better.
Battery life stinks, but getting a 3rd party head strap that has a back up battery helps a lot.
A great starting-point for VR
The Meta Quest 3 is my first-ever VR headset experience, so, I realize that gives me a limited perspective, but it is very impressive. The hardware is well made with quality materials. The UI is well-designed and easy to navigate and learn. The passthrough is good enough to safely navigate my surroundings, if maybe not quite good enough to read computer/phone screens with ease. The available apps and games are diverse. I am using the Quest 3 in a mix of native apps and PCVR and the experience has been mostly seamless.
