Purchased this adapter today, got home and found that the drivers that come with the cd install isn't for windows 10 or 11.
The SMC network website is down (company out of business), so out of luck there.

A quick fix downloading to this is in optional updates in Windows update -> download "Atheros Communications Inc. - Network - Atheros AR9271 Wireless Network Adapter".

Bought this for an older machine. Didnt come with CD as decribed, didnt auto load. Downloaded driver from internet, made some progress and connected to internet, but couldnt load pages. Got in touch with the manufacurer and they made a Static IP suggestion, which also helps for about 1 minute.

As one of the other reviewers stated this device does not work with Windows 11. The manufacturers website does not exist. Only buy if your running Windows 7. This product does not work for windows 10/11. Also it comes with a CD driver which my desktop does not have a slot for, the website where you download the driver has shut down so be aware of this before you buy. Just installed it in Windows 10. It does not work on 10 automatically, but you can use another driver that worked for me straight away. Search for "philips-pta-01-wireless-usb-adapter-463978". I loaded the driver using driver update in device manager and then point it to the folder. I believe this driver works with Win 11 but haven't tried it. Just installed it in Windows 10. Using an older Linux Lite/Ubuntu distro, WIFI was available as soon it was plugged in and just had to enter the WPA password to be online.
Performance seemed fine although we're not terribly worried.
