It's small and easy to work with; lots of cables and it's nice to get an SFX unit that has 12V HPWR. However, and this is a big one, SFX PSUs are common for media centre builds, and this is totally unsuitable for that purpose. At system idle, the fan produces ~58dB when measured OUTSIDE THE CASE. It's considerably louder than the MSI 4070 Super in the machine, a card with two fans and cranking out a lot of heat. For comparison, my old Dell 8940's PSU is only ~37dB. That was too loud as a media PC, so you can probably understand the frustration here.

I have only used this supply for a couple of weeks now but can say that it is doing its job very well. When the computer is idling and I measure the voltages or when the computer is being stress tested and I measure the voltages, I can see essential no differences, indicating good regulation. It is also quiet and stays cool. The cables that came with it were sufficient in length except for the main power connector going to the mother board. This is likely to be because of my case (Lian Li Lancool 216) where the distance between power supply and board is just a bit too far for the supplied cord. However a simple extension can be purchased, so it could be overcome quite easily. It all looks well made and has been proven to be efficient to a high degree. So if you purchase this supply and you have a Lian Li Lancool 216, you better buy the extension at the same time.

I don't have a faulty unit, the fan curve is just awful. what happens is you'll be playing a game or doing any other high-power workload, and then when you stop the workload and go back to normal tasks, the fan will stay very loud basically until you turn the pc off and wait an hour or two. it's really really bad, get something else if you can. Many other people have said this, but the fan on this series is bad.

I had no problems installing this in my SFF build. It doesn't have braided cables but that is not a problem - yes, the cables are stiff but they can be bent easily and will conform to the shape you need with enough attention. Nice value little unit that would've been fine in my build, But the PSU fan refused to do anything less than full speed and was unbearable noisy. It appears to be a common complaint even though Cooler Master has revised the series a couple of times already.
PBTech were quick to authorise my RMA. So no complaints on that side. Psu works fine, fan is really quiet, if you're worried about noise i guarantee that this fan won't be the loudest fan in your system. With side panel off and my ear 2cm to the fan its extremely hard to hear over the sound of the cpu fan honestly don't care that much that it shuts off when not in use because its so quiet when its on anyway.

The cables and the connectors are another story though. Cables are kinda stiff but definitely not something that i wouldnt expect but the connectors are really stiff. They are so stiff that im pretty sure half of my connectors are like 1~2 ml off from being flush on the connectors. And its not the female connectors on the psu its the male connectors on the cables themselves - so you're gonna have this problem every time you plug one in - gpu, motherboard, psu etc. And god forbid you have to remove them, you're gonna need 2 flat head screw drivers one of those orange lego seperator tools and a strong faith in Jesus Christ for any chance at success. And no its not me being a fool and not pressing the clip to release the cable - Im honestly surprised no one else has mentioned this so it might have just been my unit.
