Corsair RM1000e 1000W ATX 3.0 Power Supply

Nice to have new gen features but it’s annoying that it doesn’t have enough Pcie 6+2 cables in box to run 3 8pin connection to gpu, and PB tech doesn’t have any cables to supply after the fact .

at the time of purchase this was the only available option (not my first choice). Some people complained of EXCESSIVE coil whine but i dont really notice it. So far this is an excellent product. I can not fault it at all, 5 out of 5 stars. It's extremely quiet when running, the quality of the PSU and the cable wrapping is very high. They've supplied more PCIe and CPU cables than I need, they've even packaged a longer than usual HDD cable should your drive be on the other side of your case.

I installed it into my older PC that suddenly decided to no longer power on. This PC was put together in 2017, it had a ZM600-GV from Zalman. The Corsair RM850e is a nice upgrade of 250W to a grunty total of 850W. With the Corsair RM850e you get your standard 4 screws and about a dozen cable ties to keep everything tidy. The motherboard, PCIe, CPU, and additional 6+2 or 8 pin connectors are of great quality plastic. Everything is really nicely done, nothing feels cheap or tacky.

A note to those self-installing this kit into an old PC whose BIOS might not pick up on the change of supply: be sure remove your CMOS battery while powered down, then put it back into your motherboard before powering up. This trick was needed before my BIOS would boot the machine after installing the Corsair RM850e. Not a fault of Corsair at all, just an acknowledgment that a 7 year old BIOS needs to be kicked in the trousers now and then so that it realizes something has changed between power cycles.

Modulization on this is great. It's a power supply... Up until today it worked fine then it just died, bang on 12 months from purchase. Would recommend and have gotten it replaced under warranty but I've been down this road before. Hope anyone purchasing has better length of use from it than I did. Modulization on this is great. Needed to upgrade from 750w and decided to go a bit further than 850 and get the 1000w to future proof my rig. So glad I did. Have had zero issues and was able to use almost all of the same cables.
