Great idea for an adapter trust me it’s really helpful, HOWEVER… my one happens to only work one direction like as if you plugged in a USB A cable the wrong way around, we’ve all been there lol.
So if you happen to plug it in upside down zero power passes though, just something to keep in mind when buying this adapter other than that it’s great. I was going to spend a fair bit more buying a long USB-C to USB 3.0 Micro B cable so that my hard drive doesn't have to be sitting right next to the laptop (why are these cables always so short?) but instead I bought this adapter to link a long USB-C cable to the short USB-C to USB 3.0 Micro B. It works a treat. Works perfectly for connecting a audio usb dongle to an extension. Works perfectly for connecting a audio usb dongle to an extension.

I bought this to extend a dock with a built in cable. It did pass through power and HDDs, but not video. So not useful for my use.
