The Raspberry Four is definitely a good little machine that keeps the enthusiasts coming back for more. The jump in processing means that it is pretty well usable as a limited desktop device. Which the older versions could not quite claim.
That doesn't mean that it would be a particularly good experience, but it would work well enough to appreciate a ultra cheap machine.

The one draw back with the version four is the heat. The over heat symbol is constantly flickering at the top right hand corner. Even with a heat sink I found that, with a case, it just warms it up too much.

So think about getting a small fan to wick away the heat if you purchase.

The PC revision was about a year old V1.1 C03111 so didn't reflect a change that had been made to V1.2 C03112 some 9 months ago. So if you need the very latest version and the fixes reflected in PCB revision then buying board rather than the kit could be a better option.
