Philips TAR3306 Large Display Clock Radio

I'm glad I ignored reviews on other websites about the difficulty of setting the time and alarms on this clock - it's quite intuitive and worst-case scenario you can find a more detailed manual on the Phillips website. I like having two alarms, one for the weekday and one for the weekend but you still need to manually turn these on and off. The clock face is good sizing of the numbers and I like it on dim as its still easy to read but not too bright to keep you awake at night. My only complaint is once the radio has come on as an alarm, you cannot turn the volume down on the alarm feature is it starts quiet and slowly gets louder. So you then have to turn the alarm off to then turn it on again at the volume you want. Plus you cannot set the maximum volume the alarm goes to, its totally fine for me but for some they may want this flexibility, but maybe that would be expecting too much for this price point.

You can't control the radio volume not there for radio alarm.
It does "come on slowly" but by the time you wake up, it is loud and booming.
We contacted Philips & had several reply discussions and they confirmed you cannot control the volume it turns on at & trying to adjust it manually just turns off the radio. Frustrating. You can't control the radio volume not there for radio alarm.

The radio volume used for the alarm is too loud for us. Philips confirmed that this cannot be adjusted pointing to the "gentle increaes in volume" which is too fast in my mind.
Once the alarm has gone off and the radio is playing, trying to adjust the volume will just turn off the radio as the alarm and volume settings share ths same button.
