TP-Link Kasa HS100 Smart Wi-Fi Plug

Setup was very simple with the Kasa app. I've incorporated it into some open source home automation and it was the easiest ever. I've had several brands of plugs but this was the easiest and fastest to set up. My only complaint would be that the plug is quite large (as are many other brands) and it could block the other plug of a double adapter. Good value for money too. reason for 4 out of 5 stars is that at the start there were a few teething issues.
unsure if it was me or my internet of the product, but for the first week or so it would just disconnect and not work.
would reset it in the app and then re-add to google and worked perfect again.

Easy to add to my existing plugs - great being able to control the house inside and out from my smartphone. Cost effective and reliable switch - only con would be its a little big. I bought this, thinking it was a cheap option, but I didn't realise this was the HS100, as opposed to the HS110 that I had previously bought.
So I was expecting this to have the ability to track my power usage as the HS110 did.
Don't make the same mistake that I did, read carefully.

I've been using this to my pc setup where my dual monitors, pc, lamp, and phone charger are connected to a powerboard to this plug. It is very convenient to turn off as I don't have to crawl under my desk anymore. Now I just open the app from my phone and with a single tap, it's on or off. I downloaded the Kasa app, plugged this device in and it was set up in a couple of minutes. After connecting it to the Google Home app I can now use voice control with it. I use it for my fish pond pump which is plugged in under the house. When the filter starts to block, or if I want to turn the pump off for some pond maintenance, I previously had to grab the key to the downstairs area, crawl under and unplug the pump manually, then plug it back in afterwards, always making sure I had dry hands for obvious reasons. Now I can simply ask Google to turn the pump on or off from ANYWHERE and it is done. Highly recommend this product if you want to control any plug in appliance at home via app or voice control. No other special equipment is needed. Just your home internet connection, Smartphone or capable device, this product, and the free downloadable apps. Main downside is that due it's size, it will obstruct other power points if used on a twin wall outlet or multi board.
