Easy to use. Intuitive menus. I can't do a full test, but seems to read within a degree or two of what I'm expecting. Measurements have good repeatability. The 16:1 spot width sounds about right - shooting from 160cm away from a hot kettle, I start getting higher temps about 12cm to the left of it. Had hoped it would suffice as a food temp thermometer seeing as our current ones were nearly $400 each but alas it is out enough to not be usable, differing by 2-4 degrees from our testo units which is a lot when recording and temp checking food. need to check temperature of electronic components while running. This is a point and click device that gives an instant indication of temperature. The read out is big [enough to read]. Works really well and is accurate to within specs. I keep it beside my desk and can quickly establish any surface temperature. It is not an air temperature device, however in stable conditions it does give an approximate estimate of surrounding air temperature by sampling items. I've found the back light to be useful in dark conditions and I turn it off when not needed to get more battery life. The double laser assisted spot diameter recording temperature area is a great boost when accuracy and speed is required.
