Working from home during the lockdown started to prove testing at the best of times. With the over utilization of the lock ADSL and power networks, maintaining a connection was not a pleasure I had experienced.
Now with the UPS in place, my internet and sure signal connections are stable.

This is the smallest Dynamix Defender UPS unit. Came with a good 12 page printed user manual. It has two outlets and is expected to last for approx 6 mins at 50% demand. It comes with (downloadable) power management software. This makes it quite suitable for a home use situation.
I have my desktop & monitor plugged in for use mainly as power conditioning and brown out cover. This model of UPS is worth for 5 start as a rating for UPS feature and surge protection. it is quite worth for the money. However, I think this batch of products have a manufacture issue as it comes out a strong ort of chemical smell after running over night (the total connected device load was under 80W). After the smell continued for three nights, I decided to return it. I have owned seven UPSs of Dynamix, Eaton, and APC, and this is the first time I ever experience this kind of chemical smell issue with UPS. The defender UPSD 650 went almost 3 years of problem-free service. It has a 2-year warranty and replacement batteries have a 1-year warranty I get a lot of power cuts here so it was a good purchase. Our off-grid power frequently has micro-interruptions when the back-up generator kicks in and out. These cause spikes and drop-outs which had been damaging to our computer equipment. This inexpensive device has effectively become a combined UPS, power conditioner and surge protector. I am considering a second or third unit for some of our other expensive electronic gear in the near future. Works out of the box. I can confirm, it works with QNAP NAS as well (at least with my old TS-220), it was immediately recognized as external device (UPS) over USB. I wish it could also wake up my NAS over USB once the power is restored... Works out of the box. The product is great as a UPS and the replaceable battery a nice to have feature.
Unfortunately the NetGuard software has caused problems with my Win 10 system - the Java platform it uses interferes with the display - no fix seems to be available.

- Update to my previous review - I have just installed the latest NVidia GeForce driver (GTX745) and it seems to have solved the video flickering problem The product is great as a UPS and the replaceable battery a nice to have feature.
Unfortunately the NetGuard software has caused problems with my Win 10 system - the Java platform it uses interferes with the display - no fix seems to be available.
