Following Cyclone Gabrielle our power was off for six days. A member of our household is disabled and sleeps in a hospital type bed plugged into the wall to power the lift bend and tilt action.

Once this arrived and our power was restored and this had been plugged in overnight to charge up we tested it. We ran the bed for seven full days with 8 to 10 uses each day turning it on when we needed to make the bed adjust and turning off again afterward, at the end of that period there was still almost half a charge.

It was either by this or a petrol generator, and I don’t know about you, but I did not fancy running electrical extension cables out windows or filling the house with exhaust fumes.

I have had a smaller model for seven years, just replaced the batteries. Got this one as I have a much larger setup now, and I was happy to see the quality is still the same.
